Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This X-ray Result For Cough And Mucus In Throat Indicate?
I have had a cough that has varied in intensity since the first week of April.- 19 weeks. 2 bouts of antibiotics and now on oral and nasal steroids. 2 X-rays show left infiltrates(?). No fever, no chills, no one else has caught it in my family. I do have a long history of Bronchitis. I have secretions running down the back of my throat constantly but cannot cough or blow them out. Should we try an oral steroid or go see an ENT? My family doctor is changing the nasal steriod today.
Infiltration in X-ray -we have to rule out TB infection. You got chronic cough and, not relieved by antibiotics. Better do CBC/ESR/Sputum c&S. See AFB/Mantoux test. All to rule out TB.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
