What Does This Abdominal CT Scan For Kidney Stone Indicate?

Hi,A 11.8 ×8.4mm and 3mm sized calculi are seen at left renal lower pole and upper pole calyx.mild dilatation of left renal pelvicalyceal system is seen with no obvious obstruction visualised. This is my ct scan report.is it necessary to go with lithotripsy? Already i have undergone lithotripsy with stents in 2005 year.now i am 31 year woman. Please give me required suggestions. To disolve the stone is there any medicines? Is homeopathy medicine works? I already consulted urologist.he advised me to go with lithotripsy without stent.he told me if it is not done for the first time we have to do second time and some times third also. It costs too much that i cant bear.we r not having insurance also.plz suggest me with reasonable cost.is this can be done in government hospitals? Please give detailed answer. Thanks in advance.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
The 3mm stone would not cause muck problem, But 11.8 ×8.4 mm stone will not dissolve by any medicine & has no chance of removal in urine. Therefore lithotripsy is advised in you. Lithotripsy will break this large stone & therefore it will be possible to be removed in urine.
There is mild dilatation of left renal pelvicalyceal system, which shows blockage in passage of urine. This problem can increase with time & cause damage to kidney as well. Therefore I would suggest you lithotripsy. It would prevent need of surgery for removal of kidney stone.
You have not mentioned in which country or region you belong. In india lithotripsy would be available in private sector as well as selected government sectors too.

Refer to your physician
Hope this information helps
