My wife was having fever for 10 days. 3 days before, typhiFast IgM test has shown positive. Widal test was also positive. However, blood culture did not show any growth.Doctor is continuing typhoid medication. USG/CT shows thickening in abdomen. Is there a chance that she may be affected with abdominal tb ?
hi thanks for posting in HCM I have understand your concern thickening abdomen is a very non specific term in typhoid thickening of gall bladder wall is expected thickening of intestinal wall that to in specific regions indicates may be secondary to abdominal TB or malignant lesion or just intestinal wall congestion secondary to infection in TB you may lose grade fever , loss of appetite and wt along with pain , may be disturbed bowel habits also in malignancy also loss of appetite and wt ll be there so I can suggest you to go to your radiologist or physician to give clear description of the report . otherwise right now no need to worry about that.
