Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My father had a heart bypass surgery last year. He subjected to angiogeam following chest pain now. His results are as follows: LAD: 70% ostial lesion then diffuse mild mid vessel lesion with ectasia, discrete mid- distal lesion, good distal run off. Large DI occluded with ipsilateral collaterals RCA: CTO at mid segment. Collateral to PDA from LAD. Grafts: LIMA-LAD: occluded early atriatic SVG-RCA: occluded SVG-?: occluded He is under medical therapy only. I would like to know the conditions of each artery LAD and RCA and the condition of his heart and also the risks
* As per my clinical experience, the angiogram report is showing up significant occlusive changes including left anterior descending and partial changes involving right coronary artery.
* There are many of the risk factors which pause one for such after bypass surgery as:
- significant atherosclerosis process ongoing affecting grafted vessels
- lack of life style modifications
- continuous smoking
- hypercholesterolemia
- uncontrolled diabetes, blood pressure
- inadequate dose of statin or other antiplatelet therapy
- loop hole in the consumption of medicines
- diet intake with high fat content
However, it is worth to know the current symptoms of your father for further guidelines and correspondence.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
