What Does This Below Ultrasound Of Abdomen Indicate?

Hi, I am a 44 yr old mother of 6 and had a hip pain. I went to my doctor and he advised me to have an ultrasound of my whole abdomen and pelvic organs. The results showed: Liver is normal in size, measures 12.4cm in cranio-caudal length. The hepatic parenchyma shows slightly coarse echotexture. Mild liver parenchymal disease. Normal ultrasound findings of the gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and urinary bladder normal uterus, cervix, right and left ovaries. Dominant follicle, left ovary. Thick endometrium, 0.9cm. Non-obstructed uterers and bile tree No demonstrable abdominal mass or fluid collection. I am non alcoholic and does not smoke. I don't know why I got these. Do I have to have other tests? Can you explain to me further? Please help me. Thank you so much and may God bless you always.

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The report suggest that every aspect of the scan is normal, apart form hepatic parenchyma.( kidneys, uterus, ovaries, and no free fluid - no infection, dominant follicle is normal )
2.Liver shows slightly coarse echo-texture - this is seen in alcoholics in first place, also seen in the parenchyma liver disease, there is a term called non cirrhotic liver disease.
3.Similar findings are seen in the hepatitis ( hepatic inflammation).
4.The next step you should be doing is a blood test LFT - liver function lest, that will help to reach a particular diagnosis, Some cases an BIOPSY might be needed to evaluate the nature of cells involved.
5.It not alcohol causes such symptoms, the water, food medication, blood causes can be responsible for this.
6.Not to wary it may just come inflammation. Go and see your GP get examined and investigated and treated accordingly. Good luck.
