A 50-year-old man with no apparent health problems who is moderately active and normal weight has the following blood values: high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol = 30 mg/dL; low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol = 160 mg/dL; and triglycerides = 300 mg/dL.
Hello I share your concern Your reports are suggestive of hypertriglyceridemia( high triglycerides level) which a common problem at your age
I see patients with similar problem in my clinic, at the outset I would advise them for certain life style modifications like dietary restrictions and regular exercises
Avoid fatty fried and junk food You should take plenty of fresh fruits and steamed vegetables Have lots of dietary fiber which helps by absorbing the bad cholesterol Exercise regularly like walking, jogging and swimming
I would advise you to repeat these tests after 6 months with strictly following these guidelines if it persists elevated, than you may require drugs to reduce it
Hope this answers your question wish you good health Regards
