What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

My brother who is 1 year old is having this fever for over 2 months. His temperature is always between 100 and 102 Degrees. Also yellow discharges have been coming from his both eyes. We did a blood test and it show that his PCV is 33.5% and platelet count is 664 x10^3/uL. is this anything serious?!? I need an answer asap!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If he is having a persisting fever then he should be assessed by an infection control doctor to determine the source of the fever.

The increased PCV is not used on its own to assess for any condition but along with the Hb and rbc count, mch.
The white cell count, which looks for infection would be important.

The increased platelet can be an inflammatory reaction to infection or may indicate that he has platelet disorder that needs further assessment.

I hope this helps
