What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

A 50-year-old man with no apparent health problems who is moderately active and normal weight has the following blood values: high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol = 30 mg/dL; low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol = 160 mg/dL; and triglycerides = 300 mg/dL.

Looking at those values I would say that some action is needed. The LDL cholesterol is a little high (up to 159 it is borderline high, higher than that is considered high). HDL cholesterol which is considered the "good" cholesterol is on the low side and the triglicerides are high as well.
So I would say treatment with a lipid lowering agent of the statin class may be considered (though at times since you have no other health issues diet and exercise may be tried first)

I hope to have been of help.
