Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
March, 2016 I went to Northwestern Hosp. to see my Neurologist (follow-up) They took blood test Immunofixation Panel. This time my Kappa Light Chain value was 145. Their range 170-370. (K/L ratio 1.0) Their range 1.4-2.7. Quantitative IgG 797,IgA 188, IgM 94, Lambda Light Chain 144. Comment on all of these no bands seen. In 2013 Kappa Light Chain value was 172 in range. Should I be concern in the 2016 test. Thank you.
The declining level of kappa chain with IgM level decline indicate particular deficiency of immunity and body`s possible inability to mount particular response to acute infections via B lymphocytes. Further work up is mandatory to find out the cause and manage accordingly with an expert genecist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you. Take care.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
