My mom had lab drawn and it is showing her absolute basophils to be 0.8 and her absolute eosinophils to be 0.7. Also absolute granulocytes to be 12.2. Basophils 4.5. they are asking her to come in for a chest xray. Are they looking for some type of lymphoma?
Basophils are one of five types of white blood cells measured in a blood differential test. Basophil percentage should be less than 1% of overall white blood cells since your mom has 0.8 so its normal. Eosinophils are also normal. However, Neutrophils absolute is high at 12.2 so it might be due to some infection for which they are asking chest x-ray. So you can take your mom for x-ray just to rule out any chest infection. There is nothing to worry about.
