I recently had blood test which showed ALT 41 which came up from 37 from 5 months ago. I am taking Lipitor and since then I just took Lipitor 2-3x/week thinking that it is the Lipitor causing that.I am on Metformin, Losartan,Amlodipine , L-Thyroxine. I take supplement of Vita Pulse which has CoQ10,Nacetylcysteine withPyrroloquinoline quinine disodium salt. I take fish oil also. My cholesterol is normal except for triglyceride of 150. Any of these drugs causes increase ALT?
ALT is a Liver enzyme and indicates liver function.Normal range varies from 0-50 Units/l. your blood test showed ALT 41 which is absolutely normal variation from 37 to 41 has not much significance . Many drugs may cause elevated AST, and ALT like acetaminophen but in your case its not true.So relax!Take care!
