What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

I am post menopausal and recently had blood work done that showed my ferritin level to be 214, red blood count to be 5.60, hemoglobin 17.0 and hemocritt 50.0. I am concerned there is something terribly wrong. My doctor told me to donate blood and it might fix itself. I also have high cholesterol that was at 274 I go back in three months to check my levels

Hi welcome to the health care magic

For high cholesterol, antilipidemic drug like atorvastatin can be prescribed

Your serum ferritin seems within limit

RBC, HB and hematocrit value are borderline and not suggestive of polycythemia just now

Mention your clinical complaint, liver & Spleen palpation findings, smoking history if present, respiratory problems, cardiac problems etc...

Take care

Hope your concern solved

Consult physician for examination if needed and for further discussion
