What does my peripheral blood smear result means? The peripheral smear shows predominantly hypochromic and anisocytic erythrocytes, mostly microcytes. The leukocytes appear adequate in number with predominance of segmented neutrophils. No blast cell or other immature forms noted. Platelets occur singly, small clumps, sufficient in number and are morphologically unremarkable.
