Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello doctor, I am a 20 year old student. I recently had a blood test. when I got my results I had normal reports but my cholestrol and vitamin D was low but my SGPT AND SGOT were elevated around 100 / 123 my cholestrol levels are 70 and vitamin d is 20 . what does it indicates ? wht should I try to regulate the levels. ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Your vitamin d & cholesterol level are normal & irrelevant. SGOT & SGPT are liver function test & can be elevated in number of conditions as follow 1. Most common causes of mild to moderate elevations of these tests is FATTY LIVER, caused by alcohol abuse. Other causes of fatty liver include diabetes mellitus and obesity. 2.Viral hepatitis/Chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C are other causes of chronic mild to moderate liver enzyme elevation. 3.Many medications can be responsible for increase in the liver enzyme such an overdose of acetaminophen and many medicines 4. Liver function test may also be elevated in other infection unrelated to liver such as typhoid. 5.Profound liver damage inflicted by toxins & poisoning
So you should visit your physician for referral
Hoping your query is solved. get well soon.
