hi...my haemogram shows esr of 65.my peripheral smear(pbf) says, predominantly rbcs are normocytic normochromic, few microcytes and macrocytes seen. platelets appear to be adequate on smear. no blast cells seen and no haemoparasite seen. i am 47 year old female, height 5 8 , weight 90 kgs. please tell me what you can make out of the blood test. thank you.
1. Your blood picture seems to be Normal except for raised ESR.
2. ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) is usually high during any inflammatory process going inside the body. (It is just a marker of inflammation and not suggestive of any disease, thus it has to be evaluated by your doctor taking into consideration other blood parametres and symtpoms with further necessary investigation and examination.

Presence of both microcytic and macrocytic RBC means there is picture of Dimorphic anemia (iron deficiency and vitamin B12 & folate deficiency) 4. Since blast cells are absent: this means that there are no immature cells in the blood (bone marrow is not hyperactive) 5. Platelets are normal which means that hemostasis of blood is normal
