Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Blood Test Result For EBV Indicate?
I have the results from my blood test on the Epstein Barr and want to know how to read them. They are in numbers, not positive or negative. EBV VCA IGG greater than 750 Epstein-Barr Early Ag LgG 23.2 Epstein-Barr nuclear Aglg G 89.3 EBV VCA lgM less than 10
The presence of VCA IgG antibodies indicates that an EBV infection has occurred at some time recently or in the past. The presence of VCA IgM antibodies mean that the infection has occurred recently. So, based on the report you have recently had Epstein Barr virus.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
