What Does This Blood Test Result For Muscle Pain And Headaches Suggest?

Hi, I currently live in Bali and believe to have dengue fever. I have had symptoms of muscle aches, mild fever, joint pain, pain behind my eyes and headaches. Today I awoke to swollen hands and itchy rashes on my hands and arms. I did have a blood test, the results are as follows: Herewith I attach your laboratory results. Your antidengue test is negative but you PLT/Thrombocyte is low (126), WBC is low (1,7), and percentage of lymphocyte is high (53,9). It is still possible that you have Dengue Fever. Your liver function is normal. I m concerned if it is severe or not, the symptoms seemed to be fading and today I woke up with the hand pains, rashes and extreme exhaustion. Should I go back to the doctors? I was told to do a lot of fluids and meds for pain... also that I may need further blood test for monitoring PLT.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Age, gender, type of anti-dengue test, any associated illness not mentioned. Based on the history and the laboratory results you seem to be suffering from dengue fever. Early in the course of dengue fever the screening test (PCR) may be negative. You should go back to your doctor for the confirmatory antibody tests (IgG and IgM) and CBC and further treatment in the hospital.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
