Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Blood Test Result For Throat Infection And Dizziness Indicate?
I started with a throat infection 6 weeks ago..4 antibiotics didn t get rid of it. The minute I finished 1 tonsils would start to swell. Dizziness, headache, blurred vision and throat no longer hurts but like a gulp in my esophagus..just feel ill still after six weeks. Blood work done, white cell count was high. Dr first said sinus infection then viral infection. Waiting for appointment with ENT specialist. Just want to find out what s wrong.
As per my clinical experience, the super added bacterial infection over viral lesion indicates significant pathology not controlled with 4 antibiotics. There can be drug resistant bacteria, inadequate therapy, non-compliance of the patient, continuous exposure to irritants (like animal dander), uncontrolled blood sugar, lack of immune response, malfunction of T and B cells, general immuno-compromised state or continuous active smoking.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
