What Does This Blood Test Result Indicate?

Hi I am a 26yr old female . What does this report indicate? Erythrocytes : 5.00 (normal range 3.8-4.8) Haemoglobin : 10.4 (12.5-16.0) Packed Cell Volume : 35.7% (36-46) MCV : 71.0 (83-101) MCH : 20.9 (27-32) MCHC : 29.2 (31.5-34.5) RDW : 16.5 (11.6-14.0) Platelet Count : 495 (150-450) MPV : 8.4 (9.0-13.0) All other components of CBC are in normal range. Only the abnormal ones I have listed. Does this indicate something serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
These results mean that you are slightly anemic. The low MCV means that your cells are small and in a 26 year old female this is most likely due to iron deficiency anemia. The platelet count is slightly high but that is probably not a problem and will probably be normal the next time you have it checked. I would start on an iron supplement and have a CBC done again in 1-2 months
Regards
