Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently had some blood work and my Alt is 39 up from 34 in April. my AST is 25. Is this a concern or is 39 ok? I do not drink or smoke but do take 10 MG of Lisinopril for blood pressure daily. I have a follow up next we with my doctor but I am just a little worried about the readings. Was wondering if the blood press med is causing this as I have been on it for about 3 years. My blood pressure was running about 140 over 80 so the Doc put me on it. I am age 62. Thanks, Carla
dear friend ALT. 7 to 55 units per liter (U/L) AST. 8 to 48 U/L are the normal values as you can see you are well within the normal please do not worry such variations happen until it is significantly elevated nothing needs to be done. you do have elevated systolic blood pressure which needs treatment so please continue with your antihypertensive it is not the reason of the minor variation in your ALT ans AST levels
