Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently had an MRI because I have a history of an acoustic neuroma. The part of the test I am concerned about is the tiny foci of hyperintense signal on the T2 and Flair weighted sequences within the subinsular region bilaterally. Could you tell me what this means? Thank you, Teresa
* The MRI findings are supportive of acourstic neuroma development and the same has to be co related on clinical grounds with history and physical examination as presence of Cafe au lait spots, cataracts and other supportive data.
* Family history of neurofibromatosis type II, genetic evaluation and age parameters are also considered vital in your case.
Hope this information will help you to understand better the condition and query accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
