What Does This Brain MRI Test Result Indicate?

Ill-defined chronic ischemic changes in both parietal peri & paraventricular white matter regions along with multiple scattered small & tiny nodular ischaemic foci in bilateral cerebral hemispheric white matter. It was a report of my wife s MRI of brain. Pl, I want suggestions.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The brain MRI of your wife is suggestive of progressive injury of the ischemic peri ventricular white matter caused by degeneration of neurons destroyed during ischemia and damaged blood brain barrier. Please talk to your neurologist for further elaboration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

All the best.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
