General & Family Physician 's  Response
Child is having pain and spasm of neck muscles ,it indicates child has meningitis. It is a serious infection and better baby should be admitted and intravenous drugs administered because in such serious infections high level medicines in blood are rquired to reach brain which can be achieved by intravenously only. Some investigations like hb, tlv, dlc ,esr, blood culture and CSF are required Oral drugs are not sufficient. Treatment will depend upon the cause and senstivity of bacteria.
