What Does This Chest CT Scan Result For Signs Of Breast Cancer Indicate?

Strong family history of breast cancer (mother diagnosed at 34 and died at 46). After my annual bilateral breast MRI, I was told that I have a 5 mm right 6th rib lesion in the marrow. Sent for whole body nuclear medicine bone scan, which showed the low-grade increased activity anterior aspect of the right 6th rib. Then had chest CT with and without contrast for bone marrow mass as the indication. Report says, No osseous mass is identified, but the earlier imaging was not compared. Found in the chest CT were: Lung: 5mm nodule right middle lobe; 5mm nodule right lower lobe; 2-3mm nodules left lower lobe; Mediastinum: small to moderate pericardial effusion; left thyroid lob extends into superior mediastinum with small nodules seen ( goiter diagnosed). My doctors are passing me around and I feel like a hot potato. No one is saying what is going on. Ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The nuclear scan with lung nodules, mediastinum showing pericardial effusion indicate secondaries spread from the primary lesion as breast or others. In my clinic, after thorough clinical examination, I do recommend CT guided biopsy is best way to proceed for the pathological diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
