General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Prominent bronchovascular markings is not suggestive of any grave pathology to be panic about, but it is rather secondary changes from the chronic COPD with current active bronchial infection as bronchitis or developing pneumonia.
Proper physician care would make him faster recovery:
- Deep breathing exercises
- Inhaler bronchodilator, corticosteroids as per the guidance of his physician
- Broad spectrum antibiotics covering S.Pneumonie, H.Influenza and other gram positive and negative respiratory pathogens
- Supportive care with supplemental oxygen to maintain oxygen saturation around 90%
- Avoidance of exposure to noxious pollen, dust particles
- avoid smoking if involved

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
