What Does This Chest Xray Report Indicate?

I have a doctor from an ER saying that on my chest X-rays you noticed bilateral calcified hilar nodes. I went to my primary and they said they need to get with the Er doctor which has not happened yet. Is this something I should be worried about? Is this something that can be cancer?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Bilateral calcified hilar nodes do not indicate cancer.
Infact calcified hilar lymph nodes are a common finding in developing countries.
Calcified hilar lymph nodes are seen in sub0clinical tuberculosis.
In developing countries sub-clinical tubercular infection is common and the enlarged lymph nodes get calcified in due course of time.
There is nothing to worry, however, it should be kept in mind that latent tuberculosis can get activated when immunity falls.
Thus, it is important to maintain a good level of immunity by taking balanced food, good sleep and regular exercise.

Thanks and take care
