HI about a month ago I had a Hysteroscopy, Dilation and Curettage and Hysteroscopic Resection of Polyp, Myosure. This was the Pathologic Findings. Fragments of Proliferative Endometrium and Benign Endometrial Tissue, Showing Glandular and Stromal Breakdown, Focal Fragments of Benign Endometrial Tissue Suggestive of Polyp. The biopsy found the following: Sections of endometrium focally approaching simple hyperplasia without cytologic atypia. Also noted are fragments of smooth muscle proliferation without any cytologic atypia or necrosis. There is a separate fragment of hypercelluar proliferation of spindle cells showing ovoid nucleus and scant eosinophilic cytoplasm with low activity. Immunistochemical stains performed show positive staining of the cellular spindle cell fragments with SMA, desmin and estrogen receptors; negeative staining with HMB-45, s100, p53 and p16, low Ki-67 activity. The differential diagnosis includes cellular leiomyoma or smooth muscle tumor of uncertain malignant potential. Can you please explain this to me. Especially concern of the last few sentences of tis diagnosis. Thanks
