What Does This Endoscopy Result Signify?

Hi I just received results after endoscopy that it shows Patchy discontinuous erosions erythema and congestion of the mucosa with contact bleeding in the antrum, stomach body and whole stomach. This is compatible with erosive gastritis. Thank you for your reply!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The report indicates that erosions (the surface was not intact) were present at different points in the stomach.
The stomach body and antrum are different parts of the stomach.

This means that there is a risk of ulcer formation.

Treatment would involve lifestyle changes and medication.
Lifestyle changes are mainly dietary such as: (1)small frequent meals instead of large meals
(2)reduce spicy /acidic/ fatty or fried foods
(3)includes reducing caffeine, chocolate, citrus fruits, tomatoes, mint, onions
(4)weight loss of any excess weight that may be pressing on stomach

Medications such as nexium, prilosec, prevacid or protonix may help

I hope this helps
