Hello,
I read your message carefully and understood your concern.
I see your baby has
amebiasis. Other results look normal although I'd like to have the reference range your lab is using. Different labs have different reference ranges for reading normal results.
Entamoeba histolytica is a parasite that affects the intestines and is not sensitive to antibiotics.
This must be treated with anti-parasite drugs which include nitroimidazol and luminal drugs. The appropriate drug and dosage must be prescribed by a
pediatrician after a full physical examination of your baby.
Your son has suffered
diarrhea for a long time because antibiotics do nothing to these parasites. Try to keep your baby well hydrated and avoid exposure to the parasite. This means clean well the foods before eating, give him controlled dairy foods, and keep the proper hygiene. Do not travel in areas where this parasite is endemic.
In children and infants is important to treat the infection on time because it has important complications.
Amebiasis is an infection that may last in time. Drugs can cure it within a few weeks but you must be aware for your son not to get re-infected.
See your doctor and take a full prescription to get rid the infection.
Hope this was helpful
