Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
We shown my daughter in one of the heart specialist hospital, they done related tests and given the report. in that 1.Mildly dilated tricuspid regurgitation 2.large ostium secundum 3.Asd measuring 9mm 4.Mildly dilated RA RV What are the meanings of above & what treatment can be done.If hole is 9mm it is more or less.
The report shows a hole in the wall that connects the atriums of the heart (the upper chambers). Your daughter has a slightly dilated right lower chamber that may be caused due to increased blood pressure due to more blood coming in the upper right chamber through the hole.
Normally, foramen secundum should close soon after birth. If it persists beyond this period treatment (surgery) may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
