Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i had normal fever ten days before and i got haematology done. report shows every level in range except lymphocyte which is 43 (20-40) and monocyte 00 (02-10). my doctor dint say anything about me. but i m worried when i read about low monocyte here on internet. what do you suggest doc ?
High lymphocyte counts usually portray a probable viral infection considering that you had a history of fever days ago.
In a complete blood count, there is a relative decrease of other white blood cell subtypes like monoctmytes and more commonly the neutrophils, and this is due to the increase in anither subtype like lymphocytes.
These will usually go back to the normal levels after you have overcome the infection. You do not need to worry, but I must warn you of searching the internet for answers.
I recommend having a consult with a doctor for proper interpretation correlated to your case, as well as proper treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Daryl Derick B. Dizon, General & Family Physician
