Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi I just got some tests done and not clear about the condition , the Heamogram test shows ESR 22, Hct 34.90 and MCH 26.10 its states RBC s show a mild degree of anisopoikilocytosis. Both Micro and Macrocytis are seen. Ovalocytes and tear drop cells are present. Hyphochromasia +. No inmature cells seen. Leukocytes are normal in number and morphology. No atypical cells seen. Platelets are adequate. No parasite seen. Opinion Dimorphic Anaemia
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of your blood report is as follows: The hematocrit and MCH are both low. These two low parameters show presence of anemia. The red blood picture shows presence of microcytes, macrocytes with mild pallor or hypochromia. The red blood cell picture is suggestive of mixed or dimorphic anemia. I suggest you to get blood levels of iron parameters and vitamin B 12 and folic acid levels. The cause of anemia needs to be investigated and this managed.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
