Please, i did a followup cervical biopsy 3 months ago after cyro treatment, and it showed only Chronic cervicitis. Felt itchy and low abdominal pain recently, had HVS m\c\s and it had the following results: pus cell 3-5; epithelial cells +++; RBC 2-3 Culture yielded heavy growth of staph aureus after 24 hrs of incubation, sensitive to the ff antibiotics: Peflacin ++ Streptomycin +++ Ciprofloxacin +++ Gentamycn + Was placed on cirpofloxacin and one-off 2g secnidazole. Are they related? Am i on the right course of treatment? Thanks
Your HVS culture yielded heavy growth of staph aureus after 24 hrs of incubation this confirms the infection and also correlates with your symptoms. The prescription given to you is sufficient to cure this infection. Ciprofloxacin as the staphylococcus bacteria is sensitive to this drug as per the sensitivity report.
My advise is to complete the cycle of the treatment consuming the full-course of the antibiotics. If course is stopped, the bacteria in the affected area mutate resulting into the development of resistance against the antibiotics. Stay hydrated drink more amount of water and fluids which help in relieving your symptom.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
