What Does This Histopathology Report Indicate?

my wife hisopathology report says Section studied shows fragments of cervical tissue with an infiltrative neoplasm showing islands and cords of atypical cells squamous cells separated by dense fibrocollagenous tissue. The tumor clells are large polygonal with moderate cytoplasm and round to opval pleomorphic nuclei showing prominent nucleoli . Also seen are area sow occasional keratin pearls. Mitosis increased 4-5/hdf. I would like to know what does the above observation ? Is there anything serous i need to be worried about?

Hello, thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. This report suggests squamous cell carcinoma which is infiltrative ie spreading along the margins. It is a malignancy and hence serious. You need to consult a gyneac immediately to go in for surgery and chemo radio as indicated by the gyneac/surgeon. Hope i answered your query. Thanks
