Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Internal Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
i ve recently had an internal ultrasound scan and the results say the endometrium is thickened and mildly inhomogenous containing a few tiny cystic spaces within. No vascalarity to note, no obvious polyps seen, however unable to exclude . Should I be concerned? Thank you
I am not aware of your symptoms and the indication for doing ultrasound. The report says that the inner lining of uterus is a bit thickened and of uneven appearance with no obvious polyps but having few fluid filled spaces.
But this need to be interpreted on a back ground of clinical symptoms- for instance, this may be normal finding in menstruating women towards end of the cycle. But for postmenopausal women with bleeding, this need further evaluation depending on endometrial thickness (not mentioned here). Your gynecologist will discuss in detail.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
