What Does This Lipid Profile Test Report Indicate?

I am a high blood pressure patient. Last two days ago my blood pressure was 196/100. I have a Lipid profile as well: TC - 7.44, HDL - 1.08, LDL 5.10 and TRG 2.76. The nurse just treated me with nifedipe 20 mg 1 daily and atenolol 50 mg daily. Can you help me, what shall I do now?

Hello,

Nifedipine will help with blood pressure.

You can take Nifedipine.

I also see through the reports that you have a high level of triglycerides.

I suggest starting treatment with statins such as Atorvastatin as prescribed by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
