What Does This Liver Function Test Report Signify?
My dad is having liver cirrhosis since past 10 years . Since last year he got frequent urinary tract infection for some 4 times and it continued till August 2016 . After which he was normal . Again in Jan he got cellulitis , that was treated by giving livoflox medicine . Now from Feb middle when we testedd biluribin it was shown as 5.4 for the first time . Till Jan 2017 it was in the range from 2.5- 3.5 . We consulted a gastrodoctor and he gave medicine for this . It got reduced to 4.6.So he advised to take that bilirubin reducing medicine for another one more week .but day before again tiredness come to dad , and we tested LFT and it was shown bilirubin as 7.6 .But albumin got improved from 2.5 to 2.8 .He is really tired .. Could you please advise what to do ?

Please see every infection as cellulitis or urinary infection put load on liver and serum bilirubin goes up specially if the liver is weak
So please undergo ultrasound liver tests such as serum albumin, serum bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, serum alkaline phoshphatase
Ask your father to avoid alcohol and smoking
Keep BP, sugar level and lipid profile under control
Maintain proper weight
