Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Nuclear Stress Test Result Indicate?
Following a nuclear stress test I was diagnosed with no evidence of abnormal blood flow to the heart with exercise and no significant blockages to the arteries. However, it showed moderate perfusion abnormality of inferior wall and in feroseptal. There was also a significant change since the same test in 2012 in that there was a new defect in the inferior wall. What do these abnormalities and changes mean?
These type of results may be due to ischemia (decreased blood supply) of inferior wall. Most of the times, if you are having no symptom, nothing is required to be done except a careful follow up observation. However, if the symptoms are present 0r appear in due course, then further investigations like coronary angiography may be advised and treatment should be done under guidance of your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
