Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my wife after Pelvic ultrasound on 2/11/2015- findings Enlarged uteruswith adenomyosis Uterus Ia antiverted andenlarged to 11CM X7,67CM X 6,54CmUterine Volume measured 291 CC Defuse Tiny Hyperechoic Lesonin Posterior walluters Endometerium measured 9 MM Cevix is Normal in Echo Np adnexal Mass on both shoes Both Ovaries are Normal in Echoand size No free fluid in culde sac
This report shows that the uterus is enlarged due to multiple small growths in the uterine muscle. The ovaries and surrounding structures are reported as normal.
Adenomyosis is a benign Condition and can be rarely associated with endometrial cancer. (does not cause cancer but can be similar to it)
Symptoms are usually menstrual problems like heavy bleeding, pain, clots etc.
I recommend : -an OBGYN consult - treatment options would depend on your wife's age and severity of symptoms & whether you would like to have children
I hope this helps. Please seek medical attention as soon as possible. Wish you both good health. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
