What Does This Pelvic Ultrasound Test Result For Fertility Indicate?

Urinary bladder is distended. No calculus or wall thickening or mass lesions are seen. Uterus is normal in size and anteverted. Uterus measures 8.3x5.1x4.3cm. No focal myometrial lesions are seen. Uterus has a normal central endometrial echo measuring 10mm in thickness. No evidence of intra or extra uterine gestational sac is seen. No evidence of retained products of conception. Ovaries: right ovary is normal in size and measures 2.5x2.1x1.9cm volume=5cc. There is no focal lesion seen. Left ovary is normal in size and measures 2.6x2.5x1.5cm volume=5cc. There is no focal lesion seen. No free fluid is seen in the pouch of Douglas. No mass or collection is seen. IMPRESSION: No evidence of intra or extra uterine gestational sac is seen. No evidence of retained products of conception. Does this mean I can t have kids because me and my husband was trying now for 3years

Hello there, thanks for posting your query. You need to understand that ultrasound scan is a technique to detect any abnormalities in the internal organs and it doesn't predict your ability to conceive. And your ultrasound report says everything there is just fine ( uterus, ovaries and endometrium, bladder) and no issues. However as you mentioned you have been trying for already 3 years , you ( tube test - hysterosalpingography, ovulation documentation) and your husband ( semen analysis)may have to be further investigated. And even if everything comes out just fine, you may need little assistance here like ovulation induction with drugs and intra uterine insemination to help you conceive sooner. Please note that I have laid down general guidelines with no information available on your and your husband's health profile. Your doctor may suggest different plans based in your medical history.
