What Does This Prolactin Level For Delay In Conception Indicate?
My prolactin level is 35 ng/ml . but I didn t get pregnant after using cytotic tablets . I have used cytotic abortion pills 3 years ago but now am trying to get pregnant but am fail due to prolactin level can u suggest me best solution to get pregnant
Suggestive of hyperprolactinemia. Prolactin is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. It helps stimulate and maintain breast milk production and regulate normal menstrual cycles. Hyperprolactinemia (excess of hormone prolactin) can cause increased production of breast milk when not pregnant, irregular periods, amenorrhea, change in menstrual flow and thus infertility. I advise you to consult your doctor for proper evaluation and to rule out other causes of hyperprolactinemia. I would suggest bromocriptine or cabergoline which acts by decreasing the high prolactin levels and thus would help you getting pregnant.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
