Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Result From Chest CT Scan Indicate?
Impression of a recent chest CT scan with contrast IMPRESSION: 1. Anteromedial, peripherally located left upper lobe tumor, extending from the anterior mediastinum to the anterior chest wall. This overall is relatively similar to the previous exam in size and appearance. 2. Multiple new dense patchy areas of opacification are noted in the left upper lung field, potentially malignant, inflammatory, or infectious related. There, again, is a pleura-based, irregular mass in the right posterior apex, measuring minimally smaller.3. Stable low-attenuation thyroid lesions.
based from your results, it looks like you have a lung tumor. the exact nature/pathology of your lesion could only be determined thru a tissue diagnosis or a biopsy. it is best if you consult with a cardio-thoracic surgeon with regards to this matter. it is not an emergency, but there should be a sense of urgency coming from your part. diagnostics for further evaluation of that tumor and management (medical or surgical) will be directed accordingly.
hope this helps.
good day!!
