General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, Thank you for the query. I understand your concern. The scan indicates degenerative changes in inter vertebral discs- -forming a compression deformity at 1st thoracicvertebra. - there is mild fissure/ weakness at outer border of the discs between lumber 2nd & 3rd vertebra & possibly also that between lumber 3rd & 4th vertebra. * Not much of damage has been done till the date.. the degenerative changes tend to prgress with advanced age & lead to various neurological problems. So this is the time to consult a spinal orthopedic surgeon & try to detain the degenerative process by healthy lifestyle/ Calcium, vitamin D supplements\ physiotherapy./ Avoid spinal stress, weight lifting, forward bending. To be in touch with the doctor regularly & follow the instructions given Thanks.
