hi doctor good evening. My brother aged 24 he is now suffering from intestine swelling. his scan reports says that multiple gas filled aperistaltic bowel loops imaged around umbalicus two markedly dilated bowel loops with fluid stassi imaged in LIF bowel wal appear hyperchoiec no fluid in peritoneal cavity. kindly suggest me is there anything problem severely.
* As per my surgical experience, the issue with your bro is intestine obstruction ( dynamic or adynamic ) which can be from multiple reasons as
- intestine infection
- adhesions
- tuberculosis
- inflammation of various loops
- narrowing or blockage in intestine lumen
- systemic reasons as electrolyte imbalance
- others
* The severity can be decided after clinical examination with co-relation of symptoms and reports.
* This description indicates that he requires to get hospitalised treatment for the next indefinite period of time till intestines start complete working.
