What Does This Semen Analysis Report Indicate?

Needing some advice and more input. I am 31 years old and my husband is 44. We started “trying” about 8 months ago. We fell pregnant on the first try, but it sadly ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks.

We have been actively trying ever since, but to no avail. We decided to go to an RE a couple of months ago to get a fertility workup. I came up all clear and good, but my husband’s SA has me a little worried:

Volume: 4.0 ml Normal: >2.0ml
Sperm Count: 17 million/ml Normal >20 million
Total Sperm Count: 68 million/ejaculate Normal >40 million

Motility 30 minutes >50% Grade A & B OR
> 25% with Grade A

A] 33% A= Rapid Progression
B] 20% B= Slow or Sluggish Prog
C] 8% C= No Progression
D] 39% D= Non Motile

Standard Morphology:

0.4 Round Cell x 10 to 6th power/ml
3% Strict Morph Kruger

WBC (B&C Stained): Liquefaction Time: Clumping: None
Viscosity: Low
Appearance: Light Yellow/ Turbid
PH 7.4 Normal: 7.2-8.0

I am also a little worried because they didn't do percentages of the morphology i.e.: head, tail, body, etc.

Our RE seems to think that IUI is a good option for us because she says that his motility is good, but does it matter with a 3% morphology rate and 17 mil sperm count? Plus, how many "normal" sperm could possibly be left over after the wash? Even if the sperm does implant, wouldn't it likely be abnormal one due to the fact that he only has 3% good sperm and isn't there a direct correlation between abnormal chromosomes & morphology (I read the study from Oxford that you gave to another member on this thread), thus possibly causing another miscarriage? Even more so, with numbers like these, what are the chances of a "good" one to even implant?

So, in your opinion, with these numbers, is an IUI even worth it or should I just go straight to DNA fragmentation test and if that is all clear, think about ICSI?

My RE also suggested adding Selenium, Pinebark and some other antioxidants to his already extensive supplement regimen and is hoping that the morph rate and his numbers go up by the time we schedule the IUI?

I am confused and my RE really thinks IUI is the way to go, but I have been doing tons of research on my own and these numbers scare me.

Any input would fabulous. Thank you so much!!
