General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The following conclusions can be inferred based on the semen analysis report you have enclosed.
1. Colour can be considered normal, but turbidity appears to be more with high turbidity. However, agglutination is absent, which is normal.
2. Volume is little less than normal, but liquification time is normal.
3. Sperm concentration (count) is little less than normal.
4. pH seems to be less alkaline with 7.2, which is abnormal.
5. Sperm motility and morphology also seems to be less than normal.
Hence, the fertility index from the above observations seems to be low at this stage.
He can take medications containing L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin E, Selenium, Zinc, Inositol and Lecithin for 3 months, which would provide nutrients for sperm production and maturity, and repeat semen analysis after 3 months to look for improvement.
Kindly consult Infertility specialist with the report for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
