Hello,

I can understand your concern and explain you the your results of semen analysis. The volume and color are not of much concern in any semen analysis. They are normal for you. Reaction should also be alkaline as is your case.

As far as sperm counts are considered, any count at or above 20 million sperms/ml is considered normal. So your is just touching the normal border regarding count.

Regarding motility, at least 60% of sperms should be motile in the semen analysis, either actively or sluggishly. You have 45% motile sperms while 55% non-motile. This can be considered a cause of concern.

If we follow strict criteria regarding morphology of the sperms, at least 4% of sperms should show normal morphology. You have 60% sperms in defective state which makes 40% normal which is not a cause of concern.

Presence of pus cells might indicate presence of mild infection which may require a course of antibiotics for its elimination.

You might need to consult your treating doctor or a fertility expert for issues regarding motility of the sperms and presence of mild infection.

I hope this answer helps you to understand your results. Thank you for choosing us to help you. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
