What Does This Sleep Study Report For Severe Shortness Of Breath Indicate?
Hi. My husband was dx back in the late 80 s with diffuse pleural thickening from asbestosis exposure, with some parenchyma involvement. His PFT s/DLCO are fair at 59%. However his cardiopulmonary exercise testing, back in 2011 peak VO2 was 17.6 ml/kg/min. He is becoming very SOB on exertion and able to tolerate very short distances without having to sit and catch his breath. His sleep study showed severe sleep hypopnea with 02 desats 85% 31%. Do these values suggest the possibility for supplemental 02 at night via his CPAP?
