What Does This Sleep Study Test Report Indicate?

I just had a sleep study. It came back that I only had marginal apnea - 6 episodes, but my oxygen level was very low and I spent a third of the time with levels in the 70 s. I was looking for infomation about what that could be a symptom of. They want to give me oxygen at night. I am worried that I need it in the day too. I also have a call in to my regular doctor and he is really a better person to consult I think.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your report is suggestive of mild sleep apnea. So treatment is to give CPAP (continuous positive Airway pressure) with oxygen at night. But before doing this, we need to make sure that CPAP with oxygen is working in your case. Hence repeat sleep study with CPAP titration is indicated. In repeat study, if your episodes are reduced to 0 to 1 and your oxygen saturation remains good (above 90) then you should definitely start wearing CPAP mask with oxygen at night.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
