What Does This Sperm Analysis Report Indicate?

Hi Doctors, I m very tensed with the result. Could someone please help me what s the issue in this? Will I be able to father a child? PHYSICAL EXAMINATION : 1.5 ml 2.00 Semen Volume : Milky White Appearance : Normal Viscosity : 20 - 30 minutes 30 Liquefaction Time CHEMICAL EXAMINATION : Positive Fructose Test : 7.0 - 8.0 8 Reaction (pH) MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION : 15.0 millions / ml 65 Sperm Concentration : 39 millions/ Ejaculate 130 Total Sperm Count / ejaculate : 1 - 2/hpf 03 - 04 Pus Cells: : 0 - 5/hpf 00 - 01 Epithelial Cells : 2 - 3/hpf 02 - 03 RBC`s: MOTILITY AFTER LIQUEFACTION A : 40% 55 Total motile spermatozoa (PR+NP) : 32% 25.0 Progressive spermatozoa (PR) : 01% 30.00 Non Progressive spermatozoa (NP) : 45 Non motile spermatozoa MORPHOLOGY EXAMINATION : 04% 55.0 Total normal forms : 18 Head Abnormality : 15 Neck Abnormality : 12 Tail Abnormality : Asthenozoospermia Impression : The PAP stained smear is stored with the laboratory for ‎10 ‎days from ‎ the date of receipt of sample‎

Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
After going through the semen report you have posted, the following observations can be made.
1. Semen volume and physical characteristics like appearance, viscosity, liquification time are normal.
2. Chemical tests are fine.
3. Sperm count is within normal range.
4. No indication of infection present.

But the only problem that can be noted is with motility and altered morphology of sperms. Hence your fertility level is a bit low, as compared to normal. This could be due to increased oxidative stress.
You don't have to worry right now. If you are smoker, kindly quit smoking immediately.
You can take medications like carnitine, CoQ10, Lipoic acid and Vitamin E for a month and get your semen analysis again after that.
If the morphology and motility improves, your fertility also automatically improves.
